These days

What Jade Wore:

Top: Thrifted

Dress: TJ Maxx, $3.00!

Shoes: Steve Madden

I loved this top the moment I set eyes on it. I've had it for a least a year and have worn it maybe 4 times. It peeked out at me one day while thrifting and the thing I love about it is how it buttons across and has a slight peplum bottom. These days I am doing a ton of thrifting! I have banned myself from thrifting until next month for a while. But I have some new ventures and I want to make sure I'm prepared, more on that later.

These Steve Madden shoes were a buy from DSW. One of the residents where I work, works at DSW and brings me and my co-worker coupons from time to time. So the shoes were $100. 50% off making them $50.00 and then I had $30 worth of coupons (DSW does let you do multiple coupons at a time). So I paid $20 for these pumps!!! Yes ma'am. And they are comfy.

On an entirely different note, while listening to the radio the past few days, I've been hearing about the teenage sex issues getting outta hand. Thought that they have been outta hand for a while though. More specifically though a particular young lady here in Atlanta, can't remember her name, being filmed against her knowledge while performing oral sex on her boyfriend. I remember being in high school way back when a few years ago and it just seems so different! I know that people were doing "grown up" things but I guess kids today just have more access to media, phones, social networking and things we didn't really do. (Although I was on Black Planet daily in like 2000/2001, remember that?). It makes me sad that teenagers take things like sex so lightly. But then again there are several things that I didn't realize about life until I became an adult. Can you really blame kids for making so many mistakes when they aren't talked to and explained about things to keep them out of trouble instead of treated like children that don't know better and just told not to do things instead of explaining how life works. Although I'm not a parent now, I plan to be very candid with my kids about life. Not negative and berating but just open. I do feel kinda bad for the girl because she's just a kid and this is a major deal, but she is definitely not the only one that does this for whatever reasons, she is the one that is out there on a video now.

Where do you weigh in?
